Privacy policy
Last updated: April 2026. This notice explains how Solabs Nanotechnology GmbH collects, uses and protects personal data in connection with this website.
1. Overview
We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and the services offered on it. We follow the principles of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / revFADP) and, where applicable to visitors in the EU/EEA, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Per GDPR Art. 4 No. 1, “processing” encompasses “any operation or set of operations such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation, alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination, or otherwise making available”. This privacy policy describes the types, scope, purpose, duration and legal basis of our processing, including third-party components used to operate and improve the site.

3. Your rights
You have the right to:
- confirmation of whether data concerning you is being processed, information about the nature of the processing, and copies of your data (GDPR Art. 15 / FADP Art. 25);
- have incorrect or incomplete data corrected or completed (GDPR Art. 16);
- request deletion of your data (GDPR Art. 17) or restriction of processing (GDPR Art. 18);
- receive copies of your data in a portable format and have them transmitted to other controllers (GDPR Art. 20);
- object to processing of your data for reasons based on your particular situation, and in particular object to processing for direct marketing purposes (GDPR Art. 21);
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (GDPR Art. 77) — for Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
The controller is obliged to inform all recipients to whom data has been disclosed of any corrections, deletions or restrictions on processing (GDPR Art. 16, 17 Para. 1, 18), unless impossible or disproportionate. You have the right to be informed of these recipients.
4. Contact requests
If you contact us via email or a contact form, the data you provide is used to process your request. We need this data to answer your inquiry; otherwise we cannot respond fully or at all. The legal basis is GDPR Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b (performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures). Your data will be deleted once we have fully answered your inquiry and no further legal obligation to store it applies.
5. Server log files
For technical security reasons, in particular to defend against attacks, our web server records access data including browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, IP address and the date/time of access. This data is stored for a limited period and is not combined with other data sources. Legal basis: GDPR Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the site).
6. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses cookies only to the extent strictly necessary for its operation (e.g. maintaining session state in the administration area). Such cookies do not require consent. If we introduce additional, non-essential cookies (e.g. for analytics or marketing) we will ask for your consent in advance via a cookie banner; you can withdraw that consent at any time.
7. Web analytics via Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics
This section will become active once web analytics are deployed. We plan to use Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to load tags and Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage (pages viewed, approximate geographical region, device type, session duration). IP addresses will be anonymised before storage and user identifiers will be pseudonymised. The data is used exclusively to understand how the site is used and to improve content and performance.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a). Consent is collected via a cookie banner before any analytics cookie or tag is loaded, can be withdrawn at any time via the “Privacy settings” link, and covers the transfer of pseudonymised usage data to Google servers, including in the United States. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can prevent Google Analytics altogether by refusing consent, or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
More information about Google’s data handling is available in Google’s privacy policy.
8. LinkedIn
We maintain an online presence on LinkedIn to present our company and services and to communicate with customers and prospects. LinkedIn is a service of LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, a subsidiary of LinkedIn Corporation, 1000 W. Maude Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94085, USA.
When you follow a link from this website to LinkedIn, user data may be processed outside the European Union, particularly in the United States. This may entail additional risks — for example, subsequent access to your data may be more difficult. We do not have access to this data; access is only available to LinkedIn.
The LinkedIn privacy policy is available at linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
9. Data retention
Personal data processed via this website is deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for its storage ceases to apply, unless we are subject to a statutory retention obligation or we have a legitimate interest in further storage (e.g. for contractual or accounting reasons).
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The current version is always available at this URL.
