RF Heat-Shield Technology
RF Heat Shielding Technology
Excessive heat buildup on large glass surfaces — vehicle windshields, panoramic sunroofs, architectural glazing — is a major challenge for both mobility and buildings.
Solar infrared radiation passes through conventional glass and leads to significant interior heating, increasing cooling energy demand, reducing passenger comfort and contributing to higher emissions. Current heat-shielding solutions — particularly triple-layer Low-E coatings — rely on multilayer silver stacks that often compromise radio-frequency transmission. That creates a trade-off between thermal management and connectivity: signal quality for mobile communication, GPS, keyless entry and 5G can suffer.
RF Heat Shielding Technology by Solabs reduces heat buildup in vehicles and lowers cooling energy demand. By selectively managing infrared radiation, it improves energy efficiency and contributes to reduced emissions. Unlike conventional heat-shield coatings, the technology remains transparent to radio frequencies, including 5G — ensuring full connectivity.
Heat shielded, signal transparent
IR blocking
Selective absorption of near-infrared radiation keeps cabins and interiors cooler without darkening the glass.
5G / GPS transparent
Unlike silver Low-E stacks, the Solabs layer lets radio frequencies pass through — mobile, GPS and keyless entry keep working.
Lower emissions
Less cooling effort translates directly into lower energy demand and reduced emissions across the product lifecycle.
